Computer External Fan
elecromagnetic interference with external CPU fan?
I recently rigged an external fan for my computer due to chronic overheating. What i did was that I plugged in an AC desktop fan and put it in front of the uncovered part of my desktop chassis. The computer is performing much faster but I have one concern now. Would the motor of the fan cause any sort of electromagnetic interference that might mess up my hardware?
most likely not, but dont put the fan motor compleetly inside the computer.
as a alternitive you may find a internal computer fan from an old computer and add it as an extra inside, often they will plug into the standard power connectors inside the computer.
